Two men died after a shooting and crash late Friday night in south-central Phoenix, police said.

Just after 10:50 p.m. on Nov. 28, police responded to reports of a motorcycle crash near the intersection of Seventh Avenue and Interstate 17, according to Sgt. Jen Zak, spokesperson for the Phoenix Police Department.

Police found one motorcycle rider suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and another with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car, Zak said. Both men were taken to a hospital, where they later died.

Zak said preliminary information indicates the two riders were stopped at a traffic light when one rider shot the other.

A man driving a vehicle saw the gunfire and collided with the motorcycle rider who was shooting a gun, causing fatal injuries to the rider, Zak said.
