ARDEN HILLS, Minnesota (KCRG) - The Coe football team was riding a seven-game winning streak Saturday, but couldn’t extend it to eight, running into a high-powered Bethel team and falling 51-26.
Coe’s season ends at 9-3. The Kohawks won their program’s first playoff game since 2016 against Concordia-Wisconsin to advance to a matchup with Bethel.
It’s the second straight year the Kohawks lost to Bethel in the playoffs.
Coe quarterback Brady Kelly threw for 176 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Bethel QB Cooper Drews countered with 250 passing yards, three touchdowns and an interception.
Coe’s running back tandem of Tre’Sean Cunningham and Quincy Drummer combined for 154 yards and two touchdowns.
Coe advanced to the postseason for the third straight year.
