GILBERT, AZ (AZFamily) — A teen boy is in the hospital after an accident in Gilbert on Saturday.
Around 1 p.m., Gilbert police responded to the area of Val Vista Drive and Guadalupe Road for reports of a crash. When they arrived, they found a 13-year-old boy with serious injuries. Police say he was riding an e-bike at the time of the crash.
The incident marks the second crash involving a child on a bike in Gilbert within 24 hours.
On Friday afternoon, another child was struck by a car about four miles away near Val Vista Drive and Williams Field Road . A witness says he was riding a regular bicycle. The child was treated on scene and was not seriously hurt.
