The National Weather Service released a wind advisory at 12:39 a.m. on Sunday valid between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. for Franklin, Clinton and Essex counties.
"South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 45 mph expected," adds the weather service. "Strongest gusts will be along the northern slopes of the Adirondacks and along the shores of Lake Champlain. Areas that receive snowfall today will have periods of sharply reduced visibility due to blowing snow, so motorists should use extra caution."
"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result," describes the weather service. "Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects."
