Santander, Lloyds and Halifax customers have been handed the unwelcome news that over a DOZEN bank branches shut in November. The penultimate month of the year ahead of December and Christmas brought with it a number of closures.

More than 6,000 UK bank and building society branches have shut their doors since 2025, which represents over 60 per cent of the network being in a decade.

According to consumer champion Which?, over 400 bank branches ceased operations in 2024 alone, with more than 200 have already been earmarked for closure in 2025.
