Former Assemblyman Colin Schmitt serves in the Army National Guard and remains upset that one of his own was shot and killed this week in Washington, D.C.
National Guard Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, and Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe, 24, was hospitalized in critical condition after Wednesday’s shooting near the White House. Beckstrom died the next day. The suspect, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, a 29-year-old Afghan national, now faces one count of first-degree murder and two counts of assault with intent to kill while armed.
