DULUTH — Did you play tuba in high school? Or perhaps the euphonium or baritone? Wish you still had a place to toot your own horn?

Wish granted, provided you like playing Christmas music.

TubaChristmas is an annual holiday event held in several cities across the United States. According to local organizer Grant Studer, the event got its start in New York 52 years ago and slowly spread across the country.

"The way it works is that there is a book of Christmas carols that are standard across all the TubaChristmases. People get that book, and we come together to rehearse day of, then later play some Christmas classics for the public," Studer said. "We never know exactly how many people are going to be there. We just get together to make music and get to know folks in our musical community.
