A serious crash on the New York State Thruway in Orange County left three people injured, including one who had to be airlifted for treatment. 

The crash happened on Saturday, Nov. 29, at mile marker 46.6 on the northbound lanes in Woodbury, where a vehicle went off the roadway and struck a tree, the Woodbury Fire Department said. 

Fire officials said one occupant was trapped and required emergency crews to free them. That person was flown from the scene by medevac due to the severity of their injuries. 

Meanwhile, two other occupants were taken to a hospital by ground ambulance.
