The Central Falls Police Department is investigating a deadly double shooting that happened Saturday, Nov. 29, on Washington Street.

According to a news release, the shooting was reported around 11 p.m. on Washington Street near Chestnut Street.

Police found two victims with gunshot wounds. One, a female, was pronounced dead on the scene. The other, a male, was transported to the hospital with life threatening injuries.

No arrests have yet been made. The two people shot have not been identified by police, pending notification of next of kin.

Police: Shooting was targeted

According to the news release, police believe the shooting was not random and that the two individuals were "targeted."

"At this time, there is no threat to the public," the release said.
