A Sunday morning fire in Newark has displaced more than 50 people, authorities said.
At 6:18 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30, firefighters responded to 286 14th Ave. for a fire that extended to two additional buildings at 288 14th Ave. and 290 14th Ave., Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said. The heavy blaze necessitated tolling 3 alarms, and 110 firefighters responded, Miranda said.
The fire was declared under control at 7:32 a.m., Miranda said. No injuries were reported but 50 people and 14 families are being relocated, Miranda said.

The cause and origin of this fire remains under investigation by the Newark Department of Public Safety’s Arson Unit, Miranda said.
