A Mercedes was taken from a home in Nutley on Friday, Nov. 28, authorities said.
The suspects entered a residence on Washington Avenue that morning, gaining entry to the home through an unlocked rear window and stealing keys to a Mercedes parked in the driveway, Nutley police said.
The burglaries stole the Mercedes and fled the area, police said.
That same morning, police responded to an attempted burglary on Hillside Avenue after a resident observed three people in her backyard trying to gain entry through a rear window, officers said.
They were unsuccessful and attempted to gain entry to a neighbor's vehicle before fleeing the area in a black BMW 3 series with tinted windows, police said.
Both burglaries remain under investigation, police said.
