COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season officially came to an end on Sunday, Nov. 30. It was a season marked by lulls in activity, as well as some of the most intense storms on record.

One of the most notable events this season was something that didn’t happen at all. It was the first time in 10 years that no hurricanes made landfall in the continental United States.

The 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season is also in the top two seasons on record with the most Category 5 hurricanes in a single season. The 2025 season is second only to 2005, which saw four Category 5 hurricanes.

This year’s season produced 13 named storms, five of which were hurricanes. There were four major hurricanes, classified as Category 3 or higher.

These numbers fall close to early-season predictions
