SUMMERTON, S.C. (WIS) - A man is in custody after a shooting that resulted in a victim being airlifted outside a Midlands gas station on Sunday.
Clarendon County Sheriff Tim Baxley said the shooting happened near fuel pumps at the Love’s Travel Center in Summerton just before 8 a.m. The store is located on Buff Boulevard, just off Interstate 95.
The sheriff added that the victim was found with gunshot wounds to the shoulder and thigh before they were airlifted. As of around 2 p.m., they’re reported to be in stable condition.
Baxley said the suspect, 34-year-old Robert Louis Hardnett, II, was taken into custody near the gas station shortly after the shooting. Hardnett’s last known address was in Florida, but Baxley noted that the suspect is believed to have been staying around the Summer
