Jeremy Clarkson has admitted he would quit the UK for good if he was younger – and would never get a job. In his latest column for The Times, the Clarkson’s Farm star took aim at Labour prime minister Keir Starmer and Chancellor Rachel Reeves after the announcement of the Autumn Budget, which raised taxes for working people and lifted the two-child benefit cap.

Clarkson said: “Social media is full of young people with pink hair chanting ‘tax the rich’ and there’s a general sense that if the government were to confiscate all of Elton John ’s money, they’d be able to buy everyone on benefits a Porsche.”

He joked that any entrepreneurs looking for grants from their local council would be better “promising to never do a day’s work in your life”.
