PORTLAND, Ore. — A Hillsboro woman spent Thanksgiving morning volunteering at a homeless shelter, but when she left to go to her own Thanksgiving, she discovered her car was stolen.
The volunteer, Cheryl, said she parked her car at a lot on Northwest 1st Avenue and Northwest Davis Street, and was shocked to discover it was stolen after she’d finished serving Thanksgiving meals at the Union Gospel Mission.
“I was just shaking, and I thought, ‘Oh no. All my Thanksgiving. Everything’s in here,” Cheryl said.
Cheryl said her purse and Thanksgiving dishes were in the car as well.
Cheryl asked KGW to not include her last name, concerned for her privacy after the theft.
“I feel so violated,” Cheryl said. “I came home, and I just didn't know how to function. What do I do first? My ID’s out the
