FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Police in northeastern Indiana are asking the public for help tracking down the suspect in a hit-and-run crash Saturday night that involved a sheriff's officer.
According to the Allen County Sheriff's Department , around 9:20 p.m. Nov. 29, an officer was driving through the intersection of Wallen Road and Lima Road on the far north side of Fort Wayne when an oncoming pickup truck reportedly turned directly in front of the officer's patrol vehicle, causing a "significant collision."
Police say the driver fled the scene immediately. However, police say the suspect vehicle is a dark-colored Ford F-250 or F-350 equipped with a red snow plow on the front and a salt spreader on the back.
