CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa has announced it will cancel all classes on Monday December, 1st giving students returning from Thanksgiving break more time to travel safely.
The decision comes as hazardous winter weather continues to impact much of the state. Snow covered roads and reduced visibility have created difficult driving conditions, prompting UNI officials to prioritize student safety.
The university says the extra day is intended to ease the pressure on students making their way back to campus, encouraging them to take their time and avoid rushing in dangerous conditions.
Classes are expected to resume on Tuesday.
