JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A lottery window opens Monday, Dec. 1, offering families a way to have their child attend a Duval County neighborhood school outside of their assigned zone.
The district says this window is the best chance students have at securing a spot at their preferred school for the 2026 - 2027 school year. You can see which school your child would normally be assigned to using the DCPS School Locator dashboard.
The families of students who are approved for this special transfer option will be required to provide transportation to and from school.
Applications will be accepted from both Duval County residents and non-residents until the end of January.
Seats are filled on a lottery basis, with families expected to receive result notifications no later than mid-March. Thos
