WALDO, Fla. (WCJB) - Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating after a traffic crash left one dead and two others seriously injured in Waldo.
They say the crash occurred near the intersection of U.S. Highway 301 and Northeast 116th Avenue at 11:30 a.m.
According to FHP, the driver of the first vehicle, a 41-year-old woman from Jacksonville, was traveling southbound when she failed to negotiate a curve and veered into the northbound lanes, colliding head-on with a second vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say the driver of the second vehicle is seriously injured, and the passenger is in critical condition. The driver, a 58-year-old woman, and the passenger, an 82-year-old woman, are both from Georgia, and officials say they were not wearing seatbelts.
