MARTHA – (TNS Kentucky State Police troopers shot and killed a man in Lawrence County late Saturday evening.

Several troopers shot toward Timothy Keeton, 69, who pointed a firearm at law enforcement as they tried to serve an arrest warrant, according to state police.

Troopers were sent to a residence on KY-1715 in Martha, Kentucky, to search for a woman who had active arrest warrants for assault.

Around 11:45 p.m., the state police were confronted by Keeton who lived nearby. Keeton told troopers to turn their lights off, or he would shoot them out, according to KSP.

Keeton briefly returned to his residence before he came back with a firearm, KSP said.
