LEXINGTON, Ky. — The University of Kentucky is expected to part ways with head football coach Mark Stoops after 13 seasons, according to Pete Thamel , college football senior writer for ESPN.
Thamel posted on social media Sunday night that his sources told him Stoops will be let go from the university and the process will play out today.
The decision comes off the heels of a 5-7 (2-6 Southeastern Conference) season for the Wildcats, their second consecutive losing season after a 4-8 run in 2024. UK ended the season with back-to-back losses, including a 41-0 blowout Nov. 29 at Louisville in the Governor's Cup and a 45-17 defeat Nov. 22 at Vanderbilt after a three-game win streak.
Stoops, 58, told the media after Saturday's loss there was "zero percent" chance he'd voluntarily walk aw
