Major updates to services running on the Northumberland Line are set to come into force later this month. A new late night service between Newcastle and Ashington and services extended to the Metrocentre on Sundays are two of the alterations being made for passengers.
The last train running from Newcastle to Ashington currently departs at 10.16pm on weekdays and Saturdays. However, when rail timetables change on December 14, that will be moved back to 10.23pm and a later service at 11.21pm will be introduced.
Operator Northern says that the addition has been made following calls from passengers who want "more time to enjoy a night in Newcastle". Most Sunday services wil
