AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - Akron police are investigating the brutal homicide of a 44-year-old woman.

The Summit County Medical Examiner says first responders were called out around 2:10 a.m. Saturday for shots fired in the area of Miles Avenue.

They arrived to find Rebecca Lee Guthrie dead on a living room floor.

According to the medical examiner, the Akron woman had been stabbed multiple times and shot.

Officers are still investigating her death. Anyone with information is asked to contact Akron police.
