South Louisiana should brace for more cold weather this week, including freezing temperatures in some areas , after an appropriately chilly Thanksgiving Day.
It will be the coldest overnight Tuesday, as the National Weather Service in New Orleans forecasts below-freezing temperatures in the mid-20s for cities north of the Interstate 10/12 corridor, including Amite and Kentwood.
In the New Orleans area, Monday showers and possible thunderstorms will give way to a drop in temperature Tuesday and Wednesday. The Monday morning lows for the area were between 48 and 54 degrees with highs between 60 to 67 degrees, according to NWS forecasters.
