At 12:31 p.m. on Monday, the National Weather Service released a winter storm warning valid from Tuesday 7 a.m. until Wednesday 1 a.m. for Saratoga, Schenectady, Albany, Rensselaer, Greene, Ulster, Warren and Washington counties.

"Total snow accumulations between 7 and 11 inches," can be expected according to the weather service. "Moderate to heavy snow will impact the evening commute Tuesday. Snowfall rates of 0.5' to 1' are expected within the warned areas. Caution is advised for all motorists."

"Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes," comments the weather service. "If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and
