KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Tennessee Commerce and Insurance Department is giving away fire alarms in an effort to cut down on lost property and lives due to fires.
It’s part of “Get Alarmed, TN!,” which is a grant-funded fire safety program. Administered by the state’s fire marshal’s office and launched in 2012, the program distributes safety education and smoke alarms to participating fire departments. Those fire departments then deliver and install the alarms in at-risk homes across the state.
