ALLEGAN COUNTY, MI — Police have determined the identity of human remains found in Southwest Michigan.
The burned human remains found on Nov. 13 in Otsego Township have been identified as a missing 48-year-old Allegan County woman, police said,
Police did not release additional details while giving the update on Monday, Dec. 1.
Police were called around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, to the 600 block of Lincoln Road for a report of a missing person and to conduct a welfare check. Troopers found the remains there.
The Grand Rapids state police crime laboratory processed the scene. Anthropologists from Western Michigan University excavated the remains.
The manner of death remains unknown, Michigan State Police said.
