CHEYENNE – Laramie County School District 1 trustees voted Monday night to authorize filing legal action to determine the legality and applicability of the city of Cheyenne's new stormwater fee.

The decision came during their regular monthly board meeting, following discussion of crossing guards, declining enrollment and the reelection of trustees to their specific roles on the board.

The vote follows a similar action from the board's November meeting, in which they unanimously adopted a resolution authorizing continued advocacy and potential litigation regarding the fee.

“It was definitely an interest of mine, and I think a number of us, to try and reach out to City Council members on this issue regarding what they hope to accomplish and if there was an opportunity to work with them,”
