NEWARK - A three-alarm fire ravaged three buildings in Newark on Sunday morning, displacing over 50 people and 14 families, city officials said.
Firefighters responded to a report of a fire at 286 14th Ave. at about 6:18 a.m. on Sunday. The fire spread to two additional buildings at 288 14th Ave. and 290 14th Ave., raising the call to three alarms with over 110 firefighters responding, according to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda.
The fire was considered under control at 7:32 a.m. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Newark Department of Public Safety’s Arson Unit.
No injuries have been reported. However, over 50 individuals and 14 families are being relocated.
