YAVAPAI COUNTY, Ariz. — A traffic stop on Interstate 17 resulted in the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office recovering an estimated 70,000 fentanyl pills.
On Nov. 19, deputies conducted a traffic stop near Middle Verde Road, south of Lake Montezuma, on a vehicle with two adults and two children under the age of 6 inside. A police dog alerted deputies to the possible presence of narcotics, resulting in a search of the vehicle.
YCSO said 70,000 pills were allegedly concealed inside the car.
A suspect, identified as Jose Urquianeriz, and the other adult were taken into custody. YCSO said Urquianeriz is facing charges of child abuse, drug possession and transporting narcotics.
