EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Several Tri-State mayors participated in the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign on Giving Tuesday, ringing bells to support holiday fundraising efforts.
Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry rang bells outside the Civic Center Tuesday morning as part of the charitable initiative.
“As a former nonprofit director I know the value of having individual community support, and this is an opportunity for me to engage with the citizens of Evansville but also support a great charity,” Mayor Terry said.
Boonville Mayor Charlie Wyatt and Mt. Vernon Mayor Steve Loehr also participated in the bell-ringing campaign in their respective cities.
Salvation Army officials said the goal was to raise at least $2,000 in each mayor’s red kettle.
