AUBURN, Ala. ( WSFA ) - New Auburn head football coach Alex Golesh ’s staff is coming together, and a decision is being made on a key position helmed by a familiar name.

On Tuesday, Golesh confirmed DJ Durkin, who served as interim head coach for three games following Hugh Freeze’s termination, will stay on with the Tigers.

Durkin will resume his position as Auburn’s defensive coordinator.

Golesh and Durkin both released statements following the decision.
