WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB) - After more than 100 years serving the West Haven shoreline, Jimmies of Savin Rock will close its doors this weekend as five generations of family ownership come to an end.
The restaurant announced its retirement, prompting longtime customers to make final visits for the famous hot dogs and fried seafood that made Jimmies a shoreline institution.
“For 100 years, Jimmies has proudly served the community, but now it’s time for us to retire,” the restaurant said.
Kim Nalley, who now lives in San Francisco, returned to visit family and made sure to bring her daughter for one last meal at the restaurant where her grandparents took her as a child.
“Whenever I got straight A’s, they’d bring me here,” Nalley said. “I’ll get the combination platter. I want the scallops
