JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — After Monday's road rage incident that led to a shooting , a community member describes what he heard in the moments leading up to the shooting, and a crime safety expert gives tips on how to stay safe in road rage situations.

“I thought I heard a gunshot,” said Jamal Youngblood, a community member. He said he wasn’t expecting to hear a loud pop on his way to work Monday morning. “I heard something, I looked over, and I just kept driving because I had my kids in the car.”

What started as a conflict between two drivers on Monday morning turned into one of them getting shot.

“These things always start small and engulf into this large, unpredictable situation,” said crime and safety expert Ken Jefferson.
