Pitt football’s unremarkable, 38-7 loss in the regular season finale to Miami forced the College Football Playoff Committee to drop them from the penultimate top 25 rankings ahead of conference championship weekend. The Panthers, who debuted in the CFP rankings at No. 24 on Nov. 4 while riding a five-game winning streak, entered that game against the then-No. 12 Hurricanes ranked No. 22 but will now play their coming bowl game unranked.
