Toronto fire crews are expected to continue batting a complex fire in Thorncliffe Park into next week, according to the city.

In a statement Tuesday, the city said Toronto Fire Services is still working on a fire at two connected condos at 11 Thorncliffe Park Dr. and 21 Overlea Blvd. The fire was discovered last Thursday, when insulation was found to be burning in between the walls of buildings.

The fire has displaced residents in the buildings and many are now staying in hotel rooms while they wait to be told when they can return.

"As firefighting efforts remain ongoing, we anticipate a phased approach will be required for residents to safely return to occupying their units. As the fire is still active, we do not yet have a timeline for this yet," the city said in the statement.
