EAST TEXAS, Texas (KTRE) -Now that Thanksgiving is over, some families are trading in the turkeys for a Christmas tradition—going to pick out a live tree.
“You can’t beat a live Christmas tree, and I mean the way they smell, it really makes your house smell good,” Bettye Lollar, the co-owner of Dada G’s Christmas Tree Farm.
Dada G’s Christmas Tree Farm has been open for around 20 years, and they say they go through extra steps to make sure that there are no pests joining you for the holiday season.
“When we bring it to the front, we shake them and blow them while we’re shaking them, so the tree is clean when you go home,” she explained.
For most Christmas tree farms like Dada G’s, she says the pest control begins long before Thanksgiving, often starting in the spring.
