DUNKLIN COUNTY, Mo. (KAIT) - Deputies arrested a man they said had sex with a missing child at his mother’s apartment and paid the child for school lunch money, according to a probable cause affidavit.

A judge found probable cause to charge 23-year-old Daryus Martez Reed with second-degree statutory rape and first-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Sheriff Nick Darter and two deputies responded to a call to locate a missing child at an apartment on East Clark Street in Clarkton, Missouri.

Darter and a deputy spoke with Reed, who was in his underwear, at the door of the apartment. The officers said they saw the missing victim sitting on a couch in the living room, naked under a blanket.
