GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Levy County leaders are exploring their options for hiring legal help.

Commissioners directed the county manager to post an open position for an attorney and also to draft a proposal for a legal firm.

This comes after county leaders fired County Attorney Nicolle Shalley in October. Shalley now works for the city of Newberry.

The salary for a county attorney would be $100,000 to $175,000.

Commissioners approved using the firm Nabors, Giblin, and Nickerson in the interim.
