JOLIET, Ill. (WLS) -- A Joliet police officer who was involved in a shooting two years ago is now facing unrelated charges for forgery and theft.
Officer Christopher McClinton is accused of using a counterfeit $100 bill to buy lottery tickets.

Investigators say he stole the counterfeit money from an impounded vehicle while on duty.
McClinton is one of the officers involved in the 2023 shooting of Jamal Smith while responding to a call.
Smith died from his injuries months later.
