BATAVIA, N.Y. — A house on Pike Road in Batavia went up in flames Tuesday night, authorities say the homeowners were out of town at the time.
Fire investigators say that the fire spread to the first and second floors of the home and into the attic.

Genesee County Fire Coordinator Tim Yaeger noted that one firefighter was injured in the firefight, but was treated for their injuries at the scene, did not need to be sent to a hospital.
Yaeger also said that due to the house's distance from the road, it was difficult to get equipment ready quickly.
