Locals panicked when 95-year-old Li Xiufeng’s coffin was found empty — until the “dead” grandmother reappeared alive, calmly cooking in her kitchen.

Li Xiufeng's neighbours were devastated when the respected village elder passed away at the age of 95.

She has recently suffered a nasty fall , badly injuring her head, so when she was found motionless and unmoving in bed one cold winter's morning, neighbours pronounced her dead and began preparing to say their final goodbyes to her.

Li was discovered by her neighbour Chen Qingwang, 60, who tried to wake the sleeping grandmother but could not rouse her, no matter how hard he tried. Chen had kindly brought the elderly woman breakfast every morning following her fall. He explained what happened on the day she 'died' back in February 2012,
