An MSP suspended over a sexual harassment complaint is facing an exit from Holyrood at next year's election. Foysol Choudhury, a List MSP for the Lothians, had been selected as the Labour candidate for the Edinburgh Northern seat earlier this year. ‌

He was later suspended over an allegation of inappropriate conduct and sits as an independent MSP. The Record then revealed the complaint was by a staffer at Holyrood an includes an allegation of sexual harassment . ‌

Labour have today reopened the selection process and they have backed an all-women shortlist. Suspended members are also ineligible to contest selection contests . Choudhury could contest the election as an independent. ‌
