A young woman has died after being struck by a car in a hit-and-run in Glasgow . ‌

The crash happened at around 8:45pm on Tuesday, December 2, at a crossing island near to Burger King and Starbucks on Castlebank Street at Glasgow Harbour. ‌

Emergency services, including Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service, raced to the scene. The female pedestrian was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital but tragically died a short time after arriving. ‌

An investigation has been launched to track down the vehicle involved which is described as being a small, dark coloured 'city car' model which was travelling west on Castlebank Street at the time of the collision .
