BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - Blount County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested and charged a 17-year-old William Blount High School student who brought a gun onto the school’s campus Monday. That student is facing weapons charges, according to the sheriff’s office.
In a Tuesday morning news release, BCSO said a parent of a William Blount student reached out to say they had a picture of another student with a gun tucked into their waistband.
That tip came around 6:30 p.m., BCSO said, and prompted deputies to look into the student in the picture.
“The student who reported this did the right thing,” Sheriff James Lee Berrong said. “This is what we want students to do – if they see something, say something. Please don’t hesitate to report something of his nature. We are on the same page as
