OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The Village Pointe Shopping Center in West Omaha is now under new ownership.

Village Pointe, located at 170th and Davenport streets, was bought by Federal Realty Investment Trust in a $153.3 million deal, according to a release Monday. The company has been buying and transforming shopping centers for more than 60 years.

In the release, the company noted that the 453,000-square-foot property “offers 3-mile average household incomes in excess of $180,000, a prime location in one of the market’s most established commercial corridors, and significant opportunities for remerchandising and increasing rents.”

The company reports that interest in the shopping center also stems from it drawing in nearly 6 million annual visits and serving a trade area of over half a mill
