The site of the former Clydesdale Steelworks in Bellshill has been sold as plans to deliver 430 homes in the area move forward.

Miller Homes has acquired the 88.5-acre steelworks, which were closed in the 1990s. The move forms part of a wider regeneration initiative that will deliver more than 430 homes.

Phase one will see the creation of Hawthorn Green, comprised of 97 three, four and five-bedroom semi-detached and detached homes. Initial site preparation is scheduled to commence this month, with construction set to begin next year.
