Men with a "beer belly" could be at heightened risk of a deadly disease, according to recent research. The study has established a connection between heart disease and abdominal obesity.
The research, set to be unveiled this week at the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), found that belly fat is associated with more harmful changes in heart structure than overall body weight alone. This risk was discovered to be even greater in men.
