A 23-year-old Galloway man was arrested in Philadelphia on Tuesday, Dec. 2, for the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy, authorities said.

Louis Jackson was apprehended by members of the Federal Bureau of Investigations and Philadelphia Police Department on a warrant for a double shooting last month that killed Jameer Simpkins, 15, and wounded a 17-year-old boy, the Atlantic City Prosecutor's Office said.

At 5:24 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, Atlantic City police responded to the 800 block of Arkansas Avenue and found Simpkins with multiple gunshot wounds, authorities said. He was transported  to AtlantiCare Medical Facility in Atlantic City where he was later pronounced deceased, authorities said.

Jackson fled the area, but was tracked down by the FBI to the 5000 block of Chester Avenue and apprehended, authorities said. He is charged with murder and attempted murder, police said.

Jameer was an A&B honor roll student and a bright spirit who loved to dance, joke around and play video games with his friends, his aunt, Shareefa Simpkins, wrote on a fundraising page for him.

"He brought so much joy to everyone who knew him," Simpkins wrote.
