PARMA HEIGHTS, Ohio -- After months of negotiations, City Council unanimously approved a new three-year contract with the Ohio Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association (OPBA).
The new deal provides Parma Heights police department captains and sergeants with 3% raises for 2026, 2027 and 2028.
“I value our employees, especially in times where it’s difficult for any city to be able to recruit and retain employees, including in the safety area,” Parma Heights Mayor Marie Gallo said.
“Having open, honest, cordial and amicable discussions -- and being transparent with our employees on the future of our city -- is extremely important. I’m very grateful to the captain and sergeant units for seeing that and working with us on a contract that is good for them, but is also good for the city.”
